Why I believe in therapy and YOU!

Let’s face it, if a self-help book, podcast, or online course could solve the problems that brought you into therapy, you wouldn't be here. While I think these tools may offer valuable insights and knowledge, they lack what you truly need: a genuine human relationship.

As an interpersonally-oriented therapist, I believe that most of our problems are rooted in how we relate to each other. It's through our connections with others that we can find meaning and purpose in life. Unfortunately, we can also unknowingly push people away and sabotage our own happiness when we are unaware of our self-defeating patterns. Psychotherapy aims to help us become aware of these self-defeating patterns and the things about ourselves we may not want to know.

In light of this, you and I will establish a weekly rhythm to meet and explore the emotionally significant aspects of your story and begin identifying certain themes in your life and your relationships. We’ll notice how you relate to yourself and others, and also how these patterns may show up in our relationship and the ways you and I work together.

By recognizing all the strategies you learned to protect yourself from pain, uncertainty, vulnerability, and emotional closeness, we can determine how these strategies may be getting in your way and contributing to your current problems. With patience and care, we’ll help you shift these patterns so that whatever brought you in for therapy no longer holds you back. Leaving you empowered to live the life you’ve always dreamed of.
